Shuri von Neuschwanstein - A Stepmother’s Märchen

A Stepmother’s Märchen is actually based on historical Germany. In the Manhwa (comic), Shuri Von Neuschwanstein duchy was located in Nuremberg where she lived in the Lahneck Castle.

The dress Shuri von Neuschwanstein is wearing in this image echoes the fashion of the early 1800s, particularly from the 1810s to the 1860s era. Her gown features an off-the-shoulder sleeve, a hallmark of the romantic and elegant styles prevalent during this period. Colored in a deep ocean blue hue, the dress stands out with its simplicity yet enhances her striking facial features and straight, long pink hair.

By the 1860s, there was a noticeable shift towards simpler designs and fabrics in women's dresses. This trend is reflected in Shuri von Neuschwanstein’s attire, where the focus remains on the single-colored fabric and the graceful flow of the full skirt, typical of the fashion sensibilities of that era.

The next dress is a whimsical choice for a picnic outing with her family. The dress features a delightful yellowish-green hue complemented by delicate white frills, creating a charming contrast. Its design includes multiple layers adorned with intricate embroidery, showcasing large ruffles that add volume and movement to the garment. Traditionally, such a dress is worn with a petticoat and a lobster tail underneath, providing structure and enhancing its silhouette. To emphasize her youthful spirit, the dress is further embellished with numerous bows, adding a playful touch. As for accessories, she adorns a choker adorned with an emerald that beautifully matches her captivating green eyes. Additionally, she wears bracelets on both wrists, adding a subtle glimmer to her ensemble, completing the look with elegance and grace suitable for a delightful picnic gathering.
